A typical Usui Reiki session

A Reiki session begins with a free consultation, then a full hour of reiki, either lying down or in a sitting position, you will be fully clothed at all time. You will be covered with a blanket and soft music is played in the background. I will then place my hands in a variety of positions gently on the body. This touch is light and non-invasive, and my hands can be held just over the body should there be a healing wound. I conclude the session and discuss how you are feeling after the treatment.
Experiences of the Reiki energy can vary – some clients feel warmth, cold or even tingling sensations.

WHO IS USUI REIKI in MICKLEOVER?

My name is Sonia Wroblewski, and I am a qualified and insured Reiki Master and Teacher and a member of The Reiki Association.
I practise the traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho method taught by Dr Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki in Japan in the early 20th Century. My lineage can be traced back to Usui Sensei. After developing a back problem due to a car accident, my discovery of Reiki treatment in Mickleover in January 2002 was the beginning of my journey to recovery, and I firmly believe it can help you move forward too. I completed my Reiki Master/Teacher training after a three-year course in 2011. My wonderful Reiki journey continues, as it gives me the opportunity to meet such lovely clients in my Reiki practice at home.

WHAT IS REIKI?

Pronounced ‘Ray-Key’ – it is a Japanese word for Universal Life Force Energy. Reiki practitioners are trained in channelling this energy to promote natural healing across the mind, body and spirit. In a way, Reiki Treatment in Mickleover acts as a healing power. All living beings are surrounded by the electromagnetic waves of Universal Life Force Energy. This is called the ‘Aura’ and provides the energy our body needs. We also have seven chakra centres in the body. These are wheels that spin and vibrate at different frequencies and are connected to our aura. If your life force energy becomes low, or it is blocked in some way over time, you may be more susceptible to illness and feel unwell. When it is strong and flowing more freely, you will feel energised and in good health.

I have had a couple of sessions with Usui Reiki so far. I was new to this type of alternative therapy. Sonia made me feel very calm and relaxed and unrushed. I didn’t feel anything when she energy channelling on me but I feel somewhat different afterward, like more awareness and rebalancing but slowing and I’m continue to taking easy each day as time.
